Dye Certification
21 Jan 2009

The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA) requires manufacturers and importers of products regulated by CPSIA to certify that their products meet all applicable requirements covered by the act.  The legislation limits the amount of lead and three phthalates, bio-(2-ethylhexyl)-phthalate (DEPH), dibutyphalate (DBP) and butylbenzylphthalate (BBP) that can be present in products.  Huntsman Textile Effects (Huntsman) does not sell any products that contain components based on lead, and none of the mentioned phthalates are components in any products.

Huntsman does not sell dyes and chemicals to consumers and, hence, is not directly governed by the legislation.  Many of Huntsman's customers, however, may be affected by CPSIA.  This is to certify that dyes and chemicals sold by Huntsman and applied according to Huntsman's recommendations will not cause consumer products in which they are used to be out of compliance with CPSIA.
